The volcanic cone of Mount St George, 415 metres high, can be seen to the north-east from the castle. It can be reached by car in a few minutes from the road 71 towards Tapolca. Turn right off the main road before Hegymagas, where the road to the Lengyel Chapel is marked by blue and red signs.
From the chapel along the blue-red-yellow sign, just a few minutes' walk from the chapel is the Lion's Head fountain, which provides fresh and cold water. The easiest way to get to the top of the mountain is to Blue then the K3 you can go up along the sign. A Blue at the rain house, the signpost turns northeast to the famous Basalt Towers. To get there, take another road, the red can be reached by a much harder hike along the signpost.

For hiking enthusiasts, the Badacsony offers a wealth of hiking trails and attractions. At the top of the mountain, at 438 m, you will find the Kisfaludy Lookout, which is most easily reached from the Kisfaludy House on the red then the P3 on the sign.
Nice and tough tour Badacsonytördemic from the entrance road to the blue signal along the route of the Bumblebee Fountain - Stairs of the Bujdososos - Loránttfy Zsuzsanna's resting place - Ranolder Cross - Rain Stop - Kisfaludy Lookout.
From its large harbour there are scheduled flights to almost all the Balaton boat stations, and the second ferry terminal of Lake Balaton will soon be built here.
The town of nearly 18,000 inhabitants is the administrative and educational centre of the region, and the road and rail transport hub is located 10 km from Ederics. The former field town became known for its bauxite mining after World War II and regained its urban status in 1966. Its two barracks were one of the most important training centres for the country's armed forces. The largest industrial and public utilities and factories (railway, Volán, Bauxit, Bakony works, insulating material, bakery, public utilities, hospital) settled here, making it the largest employer in the area. Of course, much has changed now; bauxite mining has declined, the barracks closed in 2005, factories have disappeared, but Tapolca remains the dominant town in the area.
Its main sights and attractions:
- Tavas cave
- Mill Lake
- Hospital cave
- Trianon Monument
- World War I memorial
In addition, it's worth taking a detour to Veszprém to visit the Y-houses, not so much for their beauty but for their uniqueness. The housing estate, once built for bauxite miners, is home to a unique nationally unique Y-shaped layout of buildings painted in different colours.

The Cadillac Century exhibition shows the evolution of the brand from the 1920s to the end of the century. Cadillac has always been a symbol of success, luxury and wealth. It's no coincidence that American presidents, Elvis Presley and other world stars have chosen to enhance their prestige by driving their cars wherever they go. The beautiful luxury cars on display are accompanied by fascinating stories and useful information.
Hévíz town in Zala county, in the district of Keszthely. Its main attraction is the natural peat-bottomed warm medicinal lake, unique in Europe, which makes it one of Hungary's top tourist destinations. The history of the spa dates back to prehistoric times. The healing properties of Lake Hévíz were probably known to the Romans, as evidenced by coins collected from the lake by divers in the early 1980s and the altar stone found in the area around the lake.
When guests, refreshed from their spa treatment, feel like a walk, a good snack and good wine, head to the cellar row in Egregy, where a number of wine cellars, wine cellars and restaurants offer quality wines and food. In the evenings, you can enjoy an intimate dinner with music and dancing.
